For the truly brave, there’s McKamey Manor, ‘the most extreme haunted house in the country’. of The controversial haunted house outside Nashville has for years been dogged by complaints of violence and inhumane treatment against attendees, who at one point were forced to sign a 40-page waiver just to enter.

    Make creepy snacks/graveyard picnics

A Taurus knows you can’t have fun until you’re fed.

Prepare some pre-party food for your friends and make a mummy wheel, cold eyeball (peeled grapes), witch finger cookies, a skeleton shrimp board, and/or ghost s’mores dip.

The bull can also be induced to spend All Hallow’s afternoon enjoying a picnic in the graveyard.

While it might seem a little self-indulgent to tell the dead that you’re alive and well and eating an artisan cheese sandwich, there are some cemeteries so beautiful they practically demand a checkered tablecloth and a decanted bottle of something you can. I can’t afford it, but I absolutely must absorb it.

Consider using a multiple exposure technique, a fog machine, and/or a cool location. Channeling the spirit of the late Andy Warhol in his Factory years or the modern Leo Kylie Jenner in her blood-soaked birthday suit, the vibe here is “hot death” and the mission is to capture the fleeting, beautiful nature of life itself.

    Plan a murder mystery party

As the zodiac’s resident detective, Virgos live to dig deep, observe in painstaking detail, accuse at will, and feel the erotic thrill of being right. This impulse toward scrutiny and superiority can be met with a Klue-inspired murder mystery party.

In honor of this inalienable truth, Scorpio can host a real crime marathon, focusing on unsolved mysteries. The viewing is to be followed by a quiet Q&A in which guests reveal who they would kill if they knew they could pull it off.

Get lost in a corn maze

As a sign of expansion and exploration, Sagittarius will flourish among the dead stalks of a corn maze.

Enjoying the feeling of being lost and the challenge of finding yourself, archers will be at home with no direction and a few uncommitted hours to spend.

Sagittarius rules the ninth house of philosophy of higher education, religion and belief systems. In nature, corn mazes are a modern iteration of the ancient labyrinth, designed by ancient humans to be spiritual journeys that guided participants to a new way of being. I can dig.

    Carve a pumpkin

Capricorn is the sign of time, tradition and the bronze taxes of business. In the Major Arcana of the tarot, Cap is represented by the Devil card, all themes that weave beautifully into the practice of jack-o-lantern carving.

Vampire-faced gourds are associated with the Irish legend of Stingy Jack, a character who bartered with the Devil himself. Banished from heaven and unwanted in hell, Jack began to wander the earth for all eternity with nothing but coal to light his way.

The creature was called “Jack of the Lantern” and eventually “Jack O’Lantern”. The people of Ireland and Scotland began to make their own carved lanterns, placing them in windows and doorways to ward off Stingy Jack and any other marauding spirits or friends of the devil who might come knocking.

    Ding, dong, deliver

Aquarians can get a jump on Christmas by leaving gifts on the doorsteps of friends and strangers Getty Images

Because Aquarius often feels like they have to mask their true selves in order to be accepted, Halloween and its invitation to dress up and let loose is a bit of a homecoming for them.

The avant-garde and extremely eccentric future-focused sign rules over the eleventh house of communities, social groups and utopian ideals. To honor this energy, Aquarians can pull off an inversion of sound, dong, dance, and leave something sweet or meaty at the front door of friends and strangers.

Maybe a bar of ethically sourced chocolate or a copy of Chariot of the Gods.

Community spirit without the hassle of actual conversation? A water bearer’s dreams come true and the cup falls over.

As the most psychic of signs, Pisces are especially susceptible to the paranormal energies at play when the proverbial veil is thinnest.

As a way to ward off the bad guys, our fish friends can gather with others around the light of a fire (or pot of fondue) to tell stories. A taste of terror amidst the comfort of society, the glow of the firelight and the warming tonic of the communal hooch? Pure poetry for Pisces.

Exclusive | Duran Duran bassist John Taylor teases ‘surprises’ on epic tour, reveals his favorite things from music to art.

As part of the Grammy-winning band Duran Duran, “Bass God” John Taylor has toured the world, sold more than 100 million records and been inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. Fashion has been part of the band’s success since its inception in 1978. The bandmates’ coordinated outfits (designed by everyone from Antony Price to Vivienne Westwood) helped them take over MTV with iconic videos like “Rio ” and “Ordinary World”. Taylor, who splits his time between London and LA, is also married to another style icon: Juicy Couture co-founder Gela Nash-Taylor.

Now Duran Duran is back on tour in support of its sixteenth album, Danse Macabre – a thrilling seasonal mix of the band’s songs alongside covers of hits by Billie Eilish, the Rolling Stones and Talking Heads – and the legends will play Madison Square Garden in NYC on Halloween. “There’s nowhere like it,” Taylor, 64, tells Alexa of MSG. “You must enter respectfully and be on your best behavior.” Leaving room for a little debauchery, of course. “There will be surprises!” promises the pop star. While Taylor isn’t ready to let go of those great moments, he’s happily sharing with us all the things—from music and art to workout gear—that rock his world.

“Since this is my signature bass, designed by bass maker Sheldon Dingwall, I am bound to be biased. But this really is the best damn bass ever.”

“This [smoky chamomile, vanilla and patchouli scent] it is one of my favorite colognes. I’ve been wearing it for years.”

“As soon as I started reading this, I realized how little I knew about the life of the painter David Hockney calls ‘The Greatest of the 19th Century’. It is much less written than Van Gogh, but no less fascinating. He led the impressionist revolution, the punk painters of their time.”

“I’ve been working with this LA t-shirt company, Punk Masters, for years. We’ve recently turned up the heat and designed an entire collection of hats, merchandise, sweatshirts and hoodies. It’s a lot of fun.”

“One of my favorite songs on our latest album is our version of ‘Supernature,’ originally by Cerrone. It’s one of the greatest discos of all time.”

“I’m like a teenager when it comes to free merch, especially when Duran plays festivals like Latitude in the UK. Wristbands pile up, as do questionable hats and T-shirts, reminding me of who I am and what I do.”

“I saw a very beautiful exhibition recently by the Indian artist Sosa Joseph at David Zwirner in London. She uses beautiful colors and her work is very spiritual.”

“I’m crazy about hi-fi and I’m always upgrading my system. Recently, I bought a CD player, amplifier and streamer made by Naimi, an English company. I love the sound and the detail is fantastic.”

“My friend Orian Williams got up close and personal with this documentary about Brian Eno, the most restless and fascinating music maker of the 20th century. This is the soundtrack.”

“While I’m on the road for a tour, I always like to grab a pair of stretches and a Pilates circuit for a set of floor exercises that I try to do every morning.”
